Huge step to the "future" of automobile

Are you fascinated by the self-driving car in "MIB"?

or the auto pilot Audi in "I Robot"?

You will probably think that automatic cars are far away from now, maybe several hundreds of years later. 

However, human are having a big leap in the technology of Autonomous vehicle! 

Now, there are mainly two kind of autonomous vehicle technology.

1. 

The first kind of autonomous vehicle is singly Intelligence. In simple statement, this kind of car only depend on what itself detects. This kind of autonomous cars are operated by detective cameras and radars to detect the road situations, then make decisions. Famous car brands such as Tesla are working on this technology.

2.

However, single vehicle intelligence have some evident shortages. When during bad weather conditions such as heavy rain, or during the night, the cameras and radars are not reliable anymore.

In order to improve this shortage, another technology is developed--Intelligent Vehicle Infrastructure Cooperative System (IVICS)

IVICS could be understood by connecting the road and the cars together. By putting detecters and computers along the road, the devices can detect all the vehicles on the road and make plans for all the cars, so the cars aren't individuals anymore, and as all you know, groups are better to control.

Advantages of Self-driving Vehicles

1. Safety

When human driving cars, they are often distracted or careless, and this leads to traffic accidents. By giving the control of the car to computers, the rate of accidents can be deduced.

2. Traffic

The computer can organize the best and shortest rout to the destination, and this can improve traffic conjunction problems.

3. Convenience 

Using auto pilot, people can free their hands from the steering wheel. On the way to their destination, they can use their time on other stuffs, such as having a meal, reading newspaper etc

The technology of autonomous vehicles are developing rapidly, in short future, there will be no more manual driven cars on roads anymore.
